Soyka Violin Studio

About Jane...

Jane Soyka has been teaching in Albuquerque since 1985. She received her Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of New Mexico. A long-standing member of the Suzuki Association of the Americas, she specializes in teaching young children utilizing the Suzuki method®, having registered extensive long-term training with the S.A.A. in the Suzuki violin volumes and supplemental literature.

Located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jane maintains a full-time private studio. Those who study with her receive weekly private instruction, group ensemble classes, and many opportunities for recital participation and group public performances. In addition, each year students have the opportunity to create and perform their original compositions, which are annually published as My Students' Melodies.

Jane also co-directs with Marilyn O'Boyle the New Mexico Suzuki Institute and Advanced String Camp, where in late-July students from across the United States and abroad enjoy an intense week-long music camp experience on the beautiful campus of the University of New Mexico.

In addition to her teaching activities, Jane enjoys dabbling in graphic and web design, photography, composing/arranging music, traveling, and spending time with her family - her husband Dave, son John, grandson David, and her 4 (male) cats: Burt, Bob, Hank and Stuey.
